A slot buys exposure. It cannot buy a vote or an Elo point, and there is no column in this database that would let it. The moment sponsors can buy wins, the leaderboard stops being data and becomes an ad unit — and then nobody has a reason to be here.

A slot is a logo, one line of copy and a link, in a rail that stays on screen while people vote. Clicks are counted and reported. Sold by hand, one email at a time: no checkout, no contract, cancel by replying.
